B.Tech for Working Professionals

B.Tech or Bachelor of Technology is an undergraduate bachelor's degree course. It gives the knowledge of engineering and technology to the students. This is a very popular degree therefore not just 10+2 pass-outs even working professionals are interested in pursuing this degree.

However, working professionals cannot travel to any institute every day to attend classes, and the other modes to pursue this course are invalid such as distance/ online, etc. so for working professionals another mode is designed which is B.Tech in flexible shifts or lateral entry. In this mode, those working professionals who have completed a three-year diploma or polytechnic can enroll.

Here students get to attend classes in the evenings, on weekends, or during public holidays. So, in this program working professionals do not have to quit their jobs and they can pursue a degree at the same time. This course provides flexibility to students which helps them in maintaining a balance between education and employment.

After completion of this degree, working professionals can either get a promotion or can go for another job. This degree helps them in creating a skill set that can be used or implemented in the real world. In this flexible shift, students get a learning management system to get access to syllabi, recorded lectures, course details, etc. Working professionals get to create a network and interact with faculty to learn new technologies.

Eligibility of B.Tech for Working Professionals

To be eligible to enroll in this course the student must fulfill the following criteria:

  1. A student should have a three-year diploma or polytechnic in the relevant field.

  2. A student should have a minimum of 50% of qualifying marks to enroll.

  3. Some universities also require work experience of 2 to 3 years.

  4. There are no entrance exams to enroll in this course except some universities conduct their own entrance exam.

  5. There is no age limit or restriction to enroll in this course.

Duration of B.Tech Program

The duration to complete this course is 3 to 3.5 years so it has 6 to 7 semesters of six months each whereas the duration of this course in regular mode is 4 years which is 8 semesters of six months each. This difference is because in flexible shifts students directly get admission in 2nd year because they have already studied all the basics during three years of diploma.
